It's a boy! Baby shower hosted by the Ewell ladies and Grandma Hughes :)

I had been looking forward to my Thursday baby shower for months! My sister Ashlee flew in from Texas to help host it and everyone did such an amazing job! I felt like a queen, both my sisters over-did themselves with the cutest decorations, invitations, and my grandma and mommy made enough yummy food to feed the neighborhood. I was so pleased with all the love and support I received! Presentation is very important I've learned growing up near Hughes' and let me just say my Grandma Hughes KNOWS how to throw a party! Her house is beautiful and she sets things up better than Martha Stuart! I am so lucky to have her as a part of my family and also as my Best Friend! My mommy is the prettiest, sweetest, most giving person I know. I love her smile and she brings such a positive presence into any room. I am so glad Jack gets to have her as a grandma :)
As my auntie Tina was leaving for the night she looked at the pile of presents, then to all my friends who I was chatting with, and then to me and said, "Do you think your loved?!" She was correct! Hard to explain how much generosity and good company there was flowing in all night.

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported me and my little boy on the way, I am so thrilled with all the generous gifts I received and can't wait to dress little Jack in all the cute clothes hung up in his closet. What a PERFECT evening it was :)
P.S I counted and there was nearly 40 people who supported

Just some' of the many gifts!

WOW!!! Ronda, Steph, Jessica, and Grandma Fernelius all went shopping together and everyone at the party contributed to the many gifts, I got so many things I'll need for Jack. The big tub is actually a bath tub for the little guy :)

I know this picture is blurry, but Roarbert is a scented stuffed animal made by Scentsy. I am in LOVE with him Chris' aunt Jackie gave him to me! He is already on top of Jack's book shelf and he smells just like baby powder.

Opening Aunt Andrea's clever gift on close pins, It just kept going and going! Soo many cute things!

Thank You, Thank You to everyone who helped make my shower such an amazing day!!!!

Our Valentine's Day Date

This year we decided not to get each other gifts for Valentine's Day. Instead we made reservations for a fancy evening out at a fancy restaurant down town, Fresco :) We got all dressed up after Chris got out of class and a friend I made who banks at my branch was able to serve us. John even bought us our dessert and set the mood with candles and everything! It was simply a PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, and VERY ROMANTIC evening. Chris and I both agree it was the best meal we have EVER had the pleasure to enjoy. This is what we ordered.

On The Menu

Appetizer: Stuffed butternut squash ravioli

First Course: Cesar salad with baked Parmesan with freshly made sour dough bread

Main Course: Chris-Pork chops with sliced granny smith apple bits and steamed Brussels spouts (funny enough Chris just RAVED about the Brussels sprouts lol) Me- Grilled sea bass and lobster risotto...ummm...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G I could have died and gone to heaven!

Dessert: We shared two different equally amazing desserts. Lemon and Cream Cheese cake and chocolate pear spice cake...yeah we both had to be rolled out of the restaurant heehee

It was our 4Th Valentines Day date together and by far the best! I loved spending and entire evening all dressed up with my favorite person in the world!

The walk way to Fresco

At our table :)

Soo- excited! driving to our first fancy resturant toghether!

My incredibly handsome husband!
Can't forget our little, "tag-a-long" Jack

I love my dress!

So in L.O.V.E.

Lucas and Jack are already great friends :)

At my sister in law Jessica's Super Bowl party I got to hold my little nephew Lucas' a majority of the time. It was so fun to watch his reaction to my swollen belly and watch him pat down and drool on his cousin. Funny thing is is Jack would kick or punch him right back which made us all laugh. It was fun to have two little babies moving around on my lap at the same time :) I bet Lucas and Jack will be instant buddies!

Isn't he so cute and silly?

What a goof ball!

Mmmm yummy belly..

Cinnamon Rolls Galore!

Okay so last weekend I had an obsession with making hundreds of cinnamon rolls due to boredom, curiosity, and also a super bowl party I was attending :) Here are the results of 70 made Wednesday and 80 made Sunday! ya....I know :) It's my Great Grandma Hughes' amazing recipe and I had some help from my Auntie Tina, Mommy, and Grandma. The three best cooks on my side of the family :)

Rolling the dough out, tons of butter and cinnamon sugar.

Cut with dental floss and brown sugar and once again BUTTER lining the bottom of the pan.

Bake :)

Flip, and serve!

Operation: Getting the pets fixed!

Have you ever had to experience a cat in heat?? The CONSTANT howling, and rolling around on the ground? The crazed look in their eyes and the excessive neediness? Have you ever had about half a dozen Tom cats on your back porch making sounds as if they are going to DIE if they don't get with your little "slice" of a female? HAHAH well here at the Kenner house we have experienced this allllll too many times! Luckily as of yesterday we shouldn't have any strange cats coming through our doggy door at night and no more restless nights caused by miss Chloe pacing through the house.

Chloe is OFFICIALLY fixed! And OFFICIALLY pissed off! I don't think I've received crustier looks than from my kitty these past two days. She also has to be kept indoors for a week and is being a monster! We have been keeping her in the laundry room because she just sits and scratches at the back door otherwise....sigh....at least we got this all over with before our baby arrived (THAT would have been a nightmare!)

On the other hand....We decided to just go ahead and get Maddie our 5 pound pathetic little puppy fixed at the same time...oh dear! She is probably the saddest looking living thing you have ever seen right now! When we dropped her off she looked completely TERRIFED! She was shaking and they had to pry her out of my arms. She didn't understand why we were dropping her and her sister off in this strange place, Chloe just looked grouchy while she honestly looked like she was going to cry if that is even possible. (I'm a wimp I started bawling as soon as I backed out of the parking lot, I guess I just felt kind of guilty on top of all the pregnancy hormones.)I picked her up as soon as the vet said she was awake enough to move and her sweet little face just made me melt! Her eyes were all squinty from the anesthesia and she just about jumped a foot into my arms. In the car she was acting so funny she was trying to burrow deeper and deeper into my jacket and wouldn't let me put her down for the rest of Wednesday night. Every time I got up from the couch to go to the bathroom or fix a snack she HAD to follow me and she was still so wobbly that she kind of would walk sideways and had to stop and catch her balance a few times. I ended up just carrying her around the house the entire night and she was just passed out in my arms the whole time. So sad :( We made a little bed up for her on the ground because the doctor said she can't jump or do too much strenuous exercises for the next week. (Poor little thing can barely get the strength to go through the doggy door)Well, all night she made these heartbreaking little whippers cause I'm sure her little tummy just kills. We were able to give her some pain medication this morning and she seems to be perking up. I sure love that little pup! We have had her in our family for longer than we have been married! She has just always been there to make our day and she is so loving. When Chris got home from class last night she wouldn't stop wagging her tail and gave him about a million kisses! It's funny how much a pet can be part of the family :) I just wish Miss Chloe wasn't such a complete grouch!
