Christmas Steals!!!

Alrighty, so after work today my co-worker Aaron and I decided to stop by the Down East Discount Center in West Valley. Aaron has a friend that works there and he heard they had a recent shipment of Pottery Barn stockings arrive. I've been wanting to get some nice stalkings now that the baby is on the way and his friend said he could get us a good deal. WELL, $30 bucks, 5 stockings and a tree skirt later I am MORE than satisfied with my purchases!!! So on potterybarn.com the stockings I purchased cost $20 a piece and an extra $6 for embroidery. I got three non embroidered velvet stockings for only $5 a piece and 2 embroidered stockings that read "Mom" and "Dad" for also only $5 each!!! They are all matching and I am sooooo excited to use them as my family grows!! To top it all off I purchased a BEAUTIFUL matching velvet tree skirt with "Merry Christmas" embroidered on the bottom for only $5 dollars!! It sales for $89!!! Crazy huh!! Thank You Aaron's friend!!!! Here are some pictures :)

hopefully we will have more than one child, they only had enough for two more haha :)
I LOOOOOVE them!!!
Such pretty fabric huh? :)

You can stop by the Down East Outlet and still get a fabulous deal on these stockings, they are priced for $10 for regular customers at the store so it's still HALF off the website

On a side note, I made these fabulous wreaths for my Grandma and Mom's birthday gifts :) I got the idea off of a blog my husband's Aunt Andrea Blogged about.

They are just made out of different pattern's of fabric, I am seriously in love with them!

Gender Anxieties

I find out the sex of my little baby in 5 days...5!!! I don't think I've ever been so anxious in my life. I'm wondering if not finding out would cure this crazy rage of anxiety that has just begun? Who knows...because I WANT to know...but at the same time I DON'T want to know. Did any of you mothers out their feel this way. I feel like I'm over reacting, but I'm kind of scared to know, because it makes everything all too real and I'm getting nervous for motherhood. I know every mother-to-be has her apprehensions, but are you suppose to be this nervous? Honestly, I have NO preference of what im having...(I thought I would) but turns out I don't. My thoughts. Girls scare me, I was a heathen child and was always getting into trouble and breaking bones left and right from my sheer confidence and curiosity. So that is what I know to be a little girl by my own childhood example, I think I would have a girly-girl/tom boy who wears dresses and sparkly shoes, but prefers to play in the mud and eat bugs (just like I did)...SCARY!! (How did my mother raise me, she is so patient.) Boys...are more familiar to me, but also completely unpredictable. I nannied for 5 terrors under the age of 7 two summers ago. I thought I was going to tear my hair out...The 5 terrors were ALL boys and had energy to power a small power plant. As an understatement I was never bored. So finding out the gender would be a way to "prepare" myself, but how do you really prepare yourself for parenthood? I think it's more learn as you go. I'm very excited for Chris and my new adventure and I can't believe we only have 6 months left! I know this is what heavenly father wants for us and we have been wanting a baby for 2 years, it's just funny how they come when your not trying or expecting it anymore.

So what do I think baby is?

While many of you have told me I'm having a girl, I assure you...I'm having a boy :) I just "feel" like I am, but mother's intuition has not always been accurate I'm told...so we will just have to wait and see. If baby is cooperating we all should know in 5 days!!!

Our Little One

Our Little Baby :)
Well Surprise!...I'm having a baby :) and Chris and I couldn't be MORE excited!!! Baby is due approximately May 13Th, but we will see...babies have a way of coming at their own convenience. I am now in the beginning of my second trimester and what a sign of relief it was seeing our perfect little one in an ultra sound today! Baby was such a wiggly little one, just moving, and kicking, and stretching, and turning, and doing flips the whole time! It was so cute, when I started laughing it startled the little guy, Chris and my heart just melted!! In the picture above you can see how the little cutie turned its whole body away and just peaked a little glimpse in our direction, and every time the Dr went to take a picture baby would go from kicking and wiggling to this same position! Must be a shy little one :) It's hard to believe you can love such a small being more than anything in the world! Chris and I had lunch together after the appointment and we were just marveling about how the little one on the screen was OUR baby and that its tucked inside my belly safe and sound for us to watch over until we can hold him/her in our arms! Ahhhhhh! Can I just tell you how completely excited I am to be a mommy!!!??!! I CAN NOT believe that in little over 6 months I will be taking care of my newborn child!! It just blows my mind! Chris is the CUTEST daddy already, he takes such good care of me and is just as enthusiastic about all the planning involved with our first child as I am. I couldn't have asked for a better husband! He will make an AMAZING dad. My pregnancy has been very by the book this time, I had horrible morning sickness for 3 weeks, I have the sorest boobs in the world, crazy cravings, and I get to bed at around 8 o clock every night, because I am extra exhausted. Haha and I am alllllways hungry, but to my good fortune I only gained 2 1/2 pound my first trimester :))) It's funny at the beginning I lost wait then I gained weight and then I lost weight...so I'm curious to see what I will gain all together, though I am not too concerned. I've been reading so much about pregnancy this time and it's been so helpful to ease my mind and boost my confidence. The Dr said my blood pressure was really high my first few app ts, but it has steadily gone down. He said it was probably due to stress and anxiety so I've been trying really hard to keep my mind from worrying. I love this baby so much and I am so excited to watch him/her grow inside me. I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity to carry my own child and I couldn't have asked for better circumstances. ( I actually prayed I would get really sick so I wouldn't worry so much) I really think this baby will be the most loved baby in the world, I am going to cherish every moment being pregnant and raising my child. I really couldn't ask for more, my life is so completely blessed!

Catch up :)

I think a little catching up on my part is due, I am constantly taking pictures so I guess I'll post some of our most recent happenings :)

In early September I took a trip with my favoritest granmother to Texas to spend time with my sister Ashlee and brother-in-law Phil. Grandma and I had such a great time pampering Ashlee and helping her get ready for her baby boy. (She is being induced this Thursday!!) We had some AMAZING Texan food, did a little shopping, participatied in a baby shower thrown by her Texan friends, and we even got pedicures and massages together!! We had such a great time and I LOVED spending time with my sissy before she becomes a momma. Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Are we the only ones with a budget??

I was pondering today about Chris and my current situation and just thinking about how we got so lucky to be where we are right now, and how we are just so blessed to both have steady income and own our own home and just sooooo grateful to be able to pay our bills every month! And I was wondering...How did things just click with us right from the beginning?? I mean we both were unemployed the first year of our marriage and you'd think that would have put a damper on things right? We made it through though Chris was able to get a great job and so was I. I CAN'T believe it! ( no really) I'm in shock and awe at our blessings and I don't take any of it for granted. I do know though that life can change in an INSTANT, and I REALLY REALLY want to be prepared for hardships and misfortunes, but how do I get started? I have been saving a great deal in my 401k at work and we have a set amount that we throw into savings monthly, but is that enough? Compared to many families we are not rich by any means, but I do know "anybody can save" even if its the smallest amount it adds up. Basically I'm writing this blog for advice. Chris and I already have a budget that my dad helped us put together when we were first married and its proven extremely affective, but I will take any advice I can get. We are trying to stop bad habits and tightening our belts a lot so we can prepare for the future. Even if you can just give me some cheap meal ideas that are quick and easy it would help sooo- much! (I don't get home until 7:30 pm and Chris & I are both on the run with school, so we tend to eat out more than we should) Do any of you have budget spreadsheets that you find have saved your lives?? Or do you have tricks to grocery shopping that you would like to share? I know we are on the right track, but also I know there is always room for improvement. Also, how does your family justify spending money like on decorating your home or clothes for work or play? Do you have set amounts that you can spend on a certain area or do you save for things like repairs and maintenance on your car or home? I know everyone is trying to become more frugal these days and I'd like to know what you do so I can help make our budget better :) Love you all!

Making Me Better for ME!

It is a waste of time and energy to worry about what others are thinking about you. because... You can never know exactly what another person is thinking...AND, the worst part is...they are usually not thinking about you at all. They are too busy worrying about what others are thinking about them. So, the truth is, all those terrible thoughts you thought they might be thinking about you, are your own thoughts about yourself. Better spend your energy worrying about that...or, you just might convince somebody to think what you were afraid they might be thinking after all. ~Portia Nelson
